The new Clubhouse will encourage existing relationships to flourish and foster new ones. It will be a hub of community activity throughout the year – not just during the peak summer months. Through high-quality design and engineering, it will showcase the latest in coastal environmental and sustainable building developments, with reduction in environmental impact a priority. The new Clubhouse will help to maintain and enhance the Clubs reputation as one of the State’s most effective surf life saving bodies, by providing improved safety and service to the general public and club members for the next 70 years – and beyond.
The two-storey building will replace the existing clubhouse to accommodate a kiosk, multi-function space and bar, meeting and administration areas, aquatic store and wash-down yard, and a variety of lounge areas for all ages and abilities. A large public lawn with terraced decking provides a welcoming civic interface with Ocean Rd and the connecting surf beach, supporting food trucks and community events during peak season.
